SENIOR DESIGNER
POSITION SUMMARY
The Allentown office of Carroll Daniel Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to prepare mechanical, plumbing, and equipment design packages for FDA regulated manufacturing and research facilities. The Designer will work alongside senior engineers and designers in a multidiscipline environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with senior engineers and design professionals to edit and create 3D Models and related design documents.
- Reviews and checks own work with an emphasis on quality.
- Interacts with other offices and teams as required, utilizing shared network drives and MS Teams to communicate and collaborate.
- Work in a multidisciplinary design environment, providing support to designers and engineers.
- Support construction and field operations as needed, ensuring alignment with project designs.
- Participate in project planning, design reviews, and problem-solving during all phases of the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
- Proficiency using Revit to develop detailed process design documents including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, equipment layouts, and related items.
- Ability to work directly with clients, technology and equipment providers, and other engineering disciplines.
- Strong focus on producing error-free design packages.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent training preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience producing design packages.
- Software: Advanced skills utilizing Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- In general, performance of the job has the Designer operating from an office location vs a project location.
- Willingness to travel overnight to client locations may be required by project demands.
