POSITION SUMMARY
Carroll Daniel Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Chemical Engineer to join our team in Greenville, SC. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with design teams and industrial manufacturing clients to develop construction drawings for capital projects. During the planning and preconstruction phases, this role partners directly with clients to define project scopes and create front-end design documents. The Process Team will develop essential deliverables, including General Arrangement drawings, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), heat and material balances, and equipment design specifications during the detailed design phase. This role requires prior experience in specialty chemical, films and fibers, nonwovens, or related manufacturing facilities.

Position Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to define project scopes and create front-end design documents.
- Develop and review project deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, and equipment specifications.
- Lead the Process Team in producing General Arrangement drawings and construction documentation.
- Perform hydraulic calculations, pressure relief device calculations, and process hazard analyses.
- Utilize simulation software for system and process analysis.
- Work in a multidisciplinary design environment, providing leadership and direction to designers and engineers.
- Support construction and field operations as needed, ensuring alignment with project designs.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and presentations.
- Participate in project planning, design reviews, and problem-solving during all phases of the project lifecycle.

- In general, performance of the job has the Senior Process Chemical Engineer operating from an office location vs a project location so to oversee one or more projects at one time.
- The Senior Process Chemical Engineer will be subject to jobsite conditions and therefore should be able to cope with and withstand these conditions.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (BSChE) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in process engineering, with a focus on specialty chemical, films and fibers, nonwovens, or related manufacturing industries.
- Licensure: Active PE certification preferred.
- Proficiency with process simulation software and familiarity with hydraulic and pressure relief calculations.
- Strong understanding of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies.
- Excellent professional writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and lead project teams.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary design environment and managing cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel overnight to client locations as required by project demands.
