Description
We are currently seeking a Director of Philanthropy to support our Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant retirement community. This position is part of the Philanthropy team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with creating an annual development plan and budget for philanthropic activities at the Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant.
- Share new fundraising ideas, trends, best practices, and technologies, and how these might be best utilized given goals and resources.
- Coordinate and execute annual fundraising plan.
- Identify, research, engage, and personally solicit a portfolio of donors and potential donors.
- Update and maintain prospect management information in Raisers Edge/NXT database.
- Provide exceptional stewardship to donors to increase their giving and involvement, including campaign solicitation, donor correspondence, and database updates.
- Oversee fundraising campaigns: organizing and tracking fundraising events to expand funding opportunities.
- Gift Processing & Acknowledgment: Assist with gift processing and deposits working in collaboration with Philanthropy and Finance teams.
- Conduct planning and committee meetings, community presentations to internal and external stakeholders, and event evaluation meetings.
- Collaborate with marketing and public relations team members to promote and publicize campaigns, appeals, and fundraising events; promotional materials and publicity, including creation of invitations and mailing lists and collateral material design, production and distribution of event specific materials.
- Event Management: Coordinate planning, implementation and follow-up for special events, educational seminars, and annual receptions. Strategize and determine the type, scale, tone, theme and content of events. Assist in determining the long- and short-term goals and plans for events.
- Manage donor/cultivation events, create invitations and mailing lists, track RSVP’s, work with Facilities and Culinary teams.
- Develop metrics to measure event success outcomes based on expense, income generation and/or other pre-determined goals.
- Donor Relations and Relationship Management
- Take the lead in relationship management and solicitation role with donors at the Life Plan Community.
- Engage donor relationships through frequent personal contact including face-to-face visits, phone calls, personal notes, birthday and anniversary cards, etc.
- Maintain highest level of integrity and relationships with residents, team members, board of trustees, donors, corporate sponsors, vendors and other providers. The ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints is essential.
