Primary Purpose
To provide supervision of student being transported by district vehicles.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
Tools/Equipment Used: Specialized and adaptive equipment used by students
Posture: Frequent standing and sitting; kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking and reaching
Lifting: Frequent heavy lifting (45 pounds or over) and positioning of students with physical disabilities, controlling behavior through physical restraint, assisting non-ambulatory students, and lifting and moving adaptive equipment
Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise and vehicle fumes; exposure to biological hazards (bacteria, communicable diseases); work around vehicles and machinery with moving parts; may work irregular or prolonged hours
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Qualifications
Education/Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Possess positive attitude toward people and professional situations and is able to resolve student problems.
- Exceptional communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to deal with special need students
- Must be able to communicate effectively in speaking, reading, and writing in English
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
- None
- Responsible for general welfare of student's safety.
- Assists pupils on and off the bus
- Controls behaving of pupils on the bus and reports discipline problems as instructed by the supervisor.
- Supervises the use of seat belts on the bus
- Works with the driver to ensure good relations with parents, school officials and related parties.
- Operates a wheelchair lift and wheelchair tie downs
- Knowledge of routes in order to assist a substitute driver
- Attends required staff developments
- Handles special children in a professional manner
- Demonstrates leadership with proper attendance and punctuality
- Follows the chain of command as noted in organizational policy
- Uses time wisely to ensure productivity and efficiency.
