About the Role: As a School Nurse with Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and contribute to the success of our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive health programs to promote healthy behaviors and prevent illnesses among students.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, parents, and school staff to ensure seamless care and support for students with medical needs.
- Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations to identify students with potential health risks or conditions.
- Provide guidance and counseling to students, parents, and staff on health-related issues, such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student health information, in accordance with state and federal laws and Board of Education policies.
- Develop and implement Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs) for students with complex medical needs.
- Participate in crisis response and emergency situations, providing critical care and support to students and staff.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in healthcare and medicine, applying this knowledge to inform your practice and improve student outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Current RN licensure in the state; certification in CPR and First Aid required.
- Proven experience working in a school or healthcare setting, preferably with pediatric populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to caring for students with complex medical needs.
