About the Position: As a School Nurse with Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with teachers, administrators, and healthcare professionals to ensure the health and well-being of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide routine medical care, including administering medications, conducting vision and hearing screenings, and performing health assessments.
- Develop and implement Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs) for students with chronic medical conditions.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other school staff to ensure students receive necessary medical support and accommodations.
- Participate in school events and activities, providing medical support and guidance as needed.
- Stay current with best practices in school nursing, incorporating evidence-based guidelines into daily practice.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, using clear and concise language to explain complex medical concepts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Current RN licensure in the state; certification in CPR and First Aid required.
- Proven experience working in a school or healthcare setting, preferably with pediatric populations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
