ABOUT CARROLLWOOD FARMS

Carrollwood Farms is a family-owned farm in Stokes and Rockingham Counties. Our mission is to build a family farm for generations to come, showcase and preserve the best of the region, and use best practices in all that we do.

Position Overview :

Carrollwood Farms is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing Sitework & Grading division. In this crucial role, you'll play a key part in developing our world-class property, operating a variety of equipment to complete large-scale grading and construction projects.

Responsibilities :

Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including skid steers, mini-excavators, off-road trucks, compactors, large excavators, and dozers.
Execute large-scale projects such as pond construction, building pad preparation, and land grading.
Perform precise excavation and hauling of dirt materials.
Install and maintain erosion control measures to safeguard the environment.
Lay pipe according to specifications.
Operate transits for accurate land measurements.
Conduct regular (at least daily) maintenance on assigned equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Sitework & Grading Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.

Qualifications :

Proven ability to operate a wide range of equipment, from skid steers to large excavators and dozers.

Strong understanding of excavation, hauling, grading, and land development principles.

Experience with erosion control methods and practices is a plus.

Valid driver's license required. Class A CDL preferred.

Commitment to safety, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the team.

Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to perform various physical tasks including bending, lifting, kneeling, and twisting.

Ability to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.

Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods.

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain.
