What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Lab Tech position at Carrus Health?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for blood draws, processing, and distribution for testing.
Responsible for proper labeling of samples.
Performs clerical duties associated with the operation of the Laboratory.
Performs waived and moderate complex tests on laboratory instrumentation.
Performs and ensures AC material results are within acceptable limits prior to the release of patient information/data.
Resolves instrumentation technical problems and ensures corrective action(s) are taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
Ensures patient test results are not reported until all corrective action(s), if required, have been completed and the test system is functioning properly.
Reports to work in a timely manner and adheres to policies, procedures, and processes.
Performs other job duties as needed and/or as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate or equivalent experience is required.
Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite is required.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written means.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
Medical Lab Tech (MLT) certification is required (AMT, AAB, or ASCP).
BLS certification is required upon hire.
