What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Tech CBH position at Carrus Health?
Carrus Behavioral Hospital is a new, state-of-the-art, 28-bed child and adolescent behavioral facility. We provide 24-hour inpatient behavioral care for patients ages 5 through 17 who require a safe and therapeutic environment. Our multidisciplinary team, led by a board-certified psychiatrist, provides evidence-based therapies tailored to the needs of each child, adolescent, and family, and our effective management teams ensure that the hospital runs smoothly and that every patient leaves satisfied.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides care to patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
Assists patients with activities of daily living.
Attends to patient behavioral problems and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as needed.
Reports to work in a timely manner and adheres to policies, procedures, and processes.
Performs other job duties as needed and/or as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and assist licensed nursing staff with ADLs, Vital Signs, and reports any change in condition to the patients licensed nurse immediately.
Nursing assistant experience in a behavioral hospital setting is preferred.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written means.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
BLS certification is required upon hire.
De-escalation training is required within 30 days of hire.
