Assistant Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service while managing the cash register operations. You will be responsible for training new staff, and implementing effective upselling techniques to enhance sales. Your ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent service will contribute significantly to our customers' shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the cash register area, ensuring smooth transactions and exceptional customer service.
• Train and mentor new cashiers on POS systems, customer service standards, and store policies.
• Implement upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities during customer interactions.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments, issuing receipts, and balancing cash drawers at the end of shifts.
• Assist customers with inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, ensuring all stock is readily available for efficient service.
• Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving sales performance and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a retail environment, preferably in a grocery store or similar setting.
• Strong customer service skills with a passion for helping others.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately and efficiently.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts is a plus.
• Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
