Who We Want
The Internal Insurance Specialist is a vital member of the Carson Group Insurance Team. They will play a key partnership role with Carson Group Advisors offering solutions to risk management including data gathering for needs analysis, proposal support, policy review and execution of insurance sales processes. This position is designed to support the distribution of insurance products, enhance the sales process, ensure compliance and improve the overall experience for internal and external stakeholders.
What To Expect
- Developing strong relationships with Carson Advisors to support and develop opportunities around insurance needs.
- Educate advisors and clients on key insurance solutions that fit within the overall financial plan
- Firm understanding of sales process, quoting system, underwriting processes in order to oversee the completion of content, proposals and paperwork flow for insurance cases.
- Develop strong relationships with external partners including IMO and Broker Dealer resources.
- As necessary, assist the Vice President of Insurance on key strategic planning for revenue growth
- Continually look for ways to improve the insurance delivery and implementation process.
- Create strategy for advisors moving from Brokerage to Fee Based Annuities through annuity review techniques.
- Available as a subject matter expert for Carson Group Partners on a variety of insurance topics
- Stays current and informed of business trends inside and outside the organization in order to proactively provide and drive sales solutions and strategies to address them
- Complete mandated training, assessments, performance goals and continuing education requirements.
What You Need
- Experience with quoting and or financial planning software
- Superior client service skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Strong knowledge of life, health, and annuity insurance products and distribution channels, particularly through IMOs.
- Familiarity with insurance carrier processes, underwriting procedures, and policy administration.
- Experience in sales support and working with insurance agents or brokers.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex insurance products and compliance issues to non-experts.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in insurance, ideally with exposure to working with IMOs insurance carriers, or sales teams.
- Life and Health Insurance license (or ability to obtain).
- Professional certifications such as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), or similar are advantageous.

The total rewards expected for this role include:
- Starting annual base salary between $50,000 - $89,975.
- Variable compensation potential (Bonus and/or commissions)
