Carson-Newman University Art Department invites applicants for Adjunct Instructor of Photography. The position is a part-time appointment to begin August 2025.
Minimum Qualifications :
- MFA or equivalent graduate degree in Photography or a related field.
- Ability to teach analog film-based photography and a broad range of skills in digital photography.
- Knowledge of Adobe CC applications such as Photoshop and Lightroom.
Candidates for the position will teach courses in the Photography Major at all undergraduate levels. The Carson-Newman Photography Major combines analog, film-based and digital photography instruction. We encourage candidates who are deeply committed to a strong arts education in combination with a rigorous liberal arts education in a Christian setting. Teaching experience at the college / university level is preferred, but not required.
The faculty member in this position also needs to mentor our Art and Photography majors and be able to provide the example of a practicing, professional fine artist or commercial photographer. The terminal degree of an earned MFA in Photography or a related field is required at the time of appointment.
