Summary
This position provides leadership, oversite and operational support for the Carson Tahoe Health System, Patient Safety program. Under the general direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, this position works collaboratively with the administrative teams, leadership, medical staff, and staff in all disciplines within the Carson Tahoe Health System to plan, design, implement, and evaluate patient safety policies, standards and processes for the Carson Tahoe Health System. This position completes frequent onsite visits for all Carson Tahoe Health System entities in order to identify Patient Safety opportunities and recognize exceptional Patient Safety efforts. The Risk & Patient Safety Officer is responsible for oversight and management system-wide patient safety and risk initiatives including timely evaluation and resolution of incident/variance reports and maintains the risk & safety management programs.
Qualifications
Required:
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) within (2) two years of employment
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field
- If having prior experience as: Registered Nurse, or Pharmacist, or Epidemiologist, required to have current Nevada State Licensure in specialty, at time of hire
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM)
