Summary
Under the direction of the Department Manager and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists patients in the psychiatric, chemical dependency, and geriatric programs. Responsible for for ensuring the security, safety, and well-being of staff, patients, visitors, and properties. This is accomplished through actively patrolling, identifying security issues, and correcting deficiencies.
Qualifications
Required :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years experience as a Mental Health Technician, Certified Nursing Assitant / Caregiver in Behavioral Health or Long Term Care Setting, or in Corrections or Military; OR Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health related field or current Nursing School student.
- Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) certified, through the Sheriff's Department, within one (1) year of hire
- Two (2) years experience in security, healthcare de-escalation or related field
- Within six (6) months of hire, completes the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training Course
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for healthcare providers.
