Cardiac Cath Lab RN - Part Time
POSITION SUMMARY :
The candidate will play a pivotal role in providing direct patient care throughout all stages of cardiac catheterization procedures. Ensuring patient safety, comfort, and well-being while upholding the highest standards of quality care in our Cath Lab.
The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse must be able to maintain calm while being effective and accurate in critical situations, foster an environment of collaboration and respect, and maintain a positive approach to working in a fast-paced environment.

License required :
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of NV.
Certification required :
BLS and ACLS certification.Certificate / Education preferred :
Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or Cardiac-Vascular Nursing (RN-BC) preferred.Minimum Work Experience :
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in a cardiac catheterization lab setting.POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Patient Care
Provide nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventional procedures.Assess patients' medical histories, current conditions, and vital signs before, during, and after procedures.Administer medications and intravenous fluids as directed by the physician, and monitor patients' responses to treatment.Assist physicians and other medical staff during procedures, ensuring patients' safety and comfort at all times.Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization.Educate patients and their families about the procedure, including pre-procedure preparations and post-procedure care instructions.Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including procedure documentation and patient outcomes.Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment in the Cath Lab, ensuring availability and proper functioning of equipment.Position patients on the table and prepare catheter insertion sites following AORN guidelines for skin preparation.Perform moderate sedation under the direction of the physician.Prepare contrast for injection during procedures and record vital signs during cardiac / peripheral vascular procedures.Management of Intra-Aortic Balloon patient needs.Support and assist the scrub, physician, and / or monitor as needed, troubleshooting equipment issues and operating point-of-care (POC) testing as required.Treatment Plan
Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic plan of care In collaboration with each patient.Develops patient / family teaching and discharge plan, ensuring patient / family is adequately informed of post procedure Instructions.Follows procedures / preferences for interventions.Communicates with and keeps family informed.Performs a follow-up phone call within 72 hours of interventional procedures.Judgment
Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to initiate appropriate nursing actions, based on assessment findings, for the care of the patient.Demonstrates knowledge of hospital policies and procedures for administering, transcribing, and recording medications.Demonstrates safe administration and knowledge of medications including action, dose, and side effects.Observes 5 R's for administering medications : right patient, right drug, right dose, right method, and right time.Demonstrates proper procedures in all methods of medication administration.Initiates and maintains IV access according to hospital policy and procedures.Identifies priorities and executes nursing care accordingly.Provides emotional support and comfort measures.Applies and monitors principles of aseptic technique throughout the interventional procedure.Ensures safe transfer / transport of patient at all times.Documentation
Maintains up-to-date accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the health care team, to ensure quality care.Nursing assessment is complete and accurate.Medication administration record must reflect full signature and title of nurse administering medication, time given, reason for omission, and site for injection (if applicable).Demonstrates proper documentation of narcotics; ensures all wastage is witnessed.Accurately and promptly documents unusual occurrences noted and actions taken.BENEFITS : If you are scheduled to work part-time at least 20 hours per week and full-time at least 32 hours per week, you are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.
