Radiology Tech/Ironwood Urgent Care - Part Time
No Call Required.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform diagnostic x-ray exams with minimal supervision and provide comfortable, safe and professional care for the clinic patient, infant through geriatric. Maintain an efficient flow of patients for the clinician. Working knowledge of all equipment and all required QA checks. Stocks supplies and orders appropriately.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education
- Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program required.
Licensure required:
- NV State Radiology license required.
Certificate required:
- Current ARRT certificate - American Registry Radiologic Technologist certificate required; RT (R). (Must obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Current BLS Certification.
Minimum Work Experience
- Reading, writing, organizing, and filing skills.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Customer service skills.
- Computer and word processing skills.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Equipment
- Competently operate x-ray while performing all routine exams in a safe and optimal manner.
- Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, operating suites and at the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the A.L.A. R.A. (As low as reasonably achievable) standards.
- Understands and is able to utilize all x-ray rooms in main department.
Radiology Patient Care
- Works in conjunction with the entire clinic staff to provide a patient centered care team with effective communication being the common denominator.
- Transfer patient to imaging table, explain procedure and position patient according to protocol. Select optimal radiographic technique and obtain established routine views.
- Receives and reviews requests for radiologic studies.
- Reads requisition and physician's referral sheet to assure correct exam is performed.
- Interviews patients and reviews available clinical data from charts to alert nurses and/or physicians to possible contradictions for procedure.
- Speaks with patient to ascertain pertinent history associated with requested exam.
- Checks patient chart, lf available, to make sure correct exam is ordered.
- Uses practical knowledge of anatomy for proper positioning to obtain maximum diagnostic information, as evidenced by film taken.
- Refers to exam guidelines for necessary views.
- Reads exam requests to determine area of interest.
- Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and effects of disease processes to properly and safety position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield.
- Understands EMR, PACS, RJS, HIS systems and software.
- Send exams to PACS and review for overall quality.
- Perform required warm-ups and equipment QC. Report all malfunctions to Imaging Services Mgr. and service provider.
Communication
- Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
- Returns Phone calls in a timely manner.
- Relays messages to appropriate staff members through In Basket of EMR.
- Efficient with working in EMR and the in Basket within EMR.
