We are looking for a skilled legal secretary to support attorneys with various administrative tasks associated with litigation and trial preparation, ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice. This position requires a strong understanding of legal procedures, court practices, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for assisting attorneys with day-to-day administration of their cases. Typical tasks include maintaining legal files on an electronic document management system, staying on top of case deadlines and calendaring of deadlines and tasks, preparing "shell" documents for pleadings and discovery, coordinating service of process, booking court reporters and locations for depositions, preparing case notebooks, communicating with court personnel and clients, and similar litigation support tasks.
This position reports to the Office Manager for non-case related matters, and to assigned attorneys for support tasks.
Qualifications
Experience as a legal secretary or executive assistant
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and support multiple attorneys
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, including running of case authority tables, formatting, and styles
Familiarity with or willingness to quickly learn e-filing procedures
Attention to detail
