PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Staff Physician reports to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and collaborates with other medical directors in the medical and technical oversight of blood center, the transfusion services, and assigned departments. Participates in shared medical call rotation with physician team.
Regular full time attendance is required during normal working hours.
Qualifications
EDUCATION

M.D., D.O. Degree
-
Licensed or eligible for a Texas medical license and the ability to obtain other state medical licensure, as needed
-
Board-eligible or board-certified in blood banking and transfusion medicine; if board-eligible, must pass boards within 2 years of starting employment
EXPERIENCE
-
Successful completion of a blood banking and transfusion medicine fellowship approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)

Bilingual (Spanish), preferred
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Current knowledge of blood banking, transfusion medicine and advanced biotherapy regulations and standards

Team-building and interpersonal relationship skills

Ability to speak in front of professional groups
