What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse - PRN - Nights position at Carter Clinical Services?
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing the Registered Nurse will demonstrate proficiency in administering the fundamentals of the nursing process, contribute to nursing assessment and the development of a nursing care plan, and participate in the evaluation of nursing care. This is a PRN position and does not guarantee hours.
Job Duties:
- Supports nursing care standards through adherence to existing policies and procedures.
- Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
- Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
- Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
- Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders
- Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
- Provide instant medical care in emergencies
- Evaluates and notes the patient's response to nursing care defined in the nursing care plan and medical records.
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required
Experience: At least six (6) months of experience as a professional nurse
Licensure/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) License (Kansas or multistate),Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification required upon hire
Physical Requirements: This position is subject to prolonged periods of standing and the employee must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
