Position Overview:
Carter G. Woodson School is seeking a passionate and dedicated EC Teacher to provide specialized instruction for students with disabilities in grades K-12. This role involves implementing IEPs using both push-in and pull-out models while ensuring compliance with North Carolina state requirements. The EC Teacher will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment and collaborate with the EC Director, SEL teacher, Parent Coordinator, Restorative Specialist, and Eagles Team to address students' social and emotional needs. A strong commitment to cultural awareness, professional growth, and student success is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students' needs.
- Monitor and document student progress regularly.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding educational progress.
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Report to and collaborate with the EC Administrator regularly.
- Provide instruction in English Language Arts and Mathematics with appropriate modifications.
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers to support classroom modifications and interventions.
• Schedule and conduct IEP meetings, annual reviews, and reevaluations. • Act as an LEA representative, as needed.
• Ensure compliance with EC due process rights and procedures. • Utilize ECATS (preferred).
- Attend relevant regional, state, district meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Adhere to all school rules and procedures while maintaining student confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Certified and licensed to teach in North Carolina.
- Knowledge of EC due process rights, intervention strategies, and state/federal regulations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. • Ability to implement differentiated instruction and classroom interventions strategies.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and self-improvement. • Experience working with diverse student populations and understanding the social, emotional, and cultural needs of students.
Working Conditions:
