SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Director of Operations:
- 1. Provides leadership and direction for the effective and efficient management of the total healthcare operations and delivery of multi-service home health agency services, strategic planning, development and attainment of organizational goals and objectives for the designated area.
- 2. Reports directly to the Organization's COO and works closely with members of the medical and professional staff, is aware of home health activities in the community, and remains current in healthcare matters.
- 3. Implements the corporate vision for the full complement of services offered (Medicare, private insurance, and private pay) beneficiaries, maintains that vision and articulates it in all program development and evaluation activities. He/she applies problem identification and resolution skills that encompass the larger dynamics in planning and problem solving.
- 4. Creates a structure that best meets the needs of the organization, particularly as it relates to the supervision and assignment of staff. He/she also has a keen awareness of market-related activities which includes knowledge of the activities of other providers, the needs of the local players, and the political climate as it relates to home health care.
- 5. Is responsible for setting and achieving goals related to census, staff productivity, and meeting financial markers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1. Registered Nurse license with no restrictions, in the state of office location, preferably five (5) years Home Healthcare or Hospice experience at a management level for twelve (12) consecutive months full time within the last three (3) years, preferred.
- 2. Bachelor's Degree Preferable.
- 3. Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
- 4. Sound, workable knowledge base of nursing and clinical management.
- 5. Able to travel statewide weekly and more often as necessary.
- 6. Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- 7. Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations.
- 8. Demonstrates an ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
- 9. Must be a licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the Agency requirements; have proof of insurance.
- 10. Possesses motivational qualities for improved team performance.
- 11. Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows/MS Office applications.
- 12. Able to type at least 25 words per minute.
