Job Overview
I am a sole practitioner in need of an experienced Paralegal to provide overall support which comprises telephone calls with clients, scheduling, meeting with clients, document preparation and e-filing.
Duties
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and contracts.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly indexed and accessible.
- Assist in preparing for trials, hearings, and client meetings.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
- Manage schedules for attorneys, including court dates and deadlines for filings.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the practice area.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and filings.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is preferred.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Prior use of TxDocs or Prodocs preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
