Carter Law Group, a small, woman-owned law firm specializing in catastrophic personal injury and employment discrimination cases, is seeking a dedicated and professional Litigation Paralegal to join our team. Position Overview: As an experienced Litigation Paralegal at Carter Law Group, you will support our attorneys in all aspects of litigation, from pre-litigation to post-trial. Your responsibilities will include preparing legal documents, managing case files, conducting research, and assisting in trial preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring that documents are accurately filed and readily accessible.
- Coordinate and manage discovery, including preparation of discovery responses and tracking deadlines.
- Prepare deposition and trial exhibits.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorneys.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed.
- Prepare subpoenas and coordinate document production.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of applicable local, state, and federal rules and procedures.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal is required.
- Strong preference for litigation paralegal experience within a personal injury firm, either on the plaintiffs' or defense side.
- Strong working knowledge of litigation procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (a small writing sample will be required later in the interview process)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and case management software
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience with the case management system Filevine is a plus but not required.
