What are the responsibilities and job description for the Indirect Tax Manager-Lone Tree Co Onsite position at Carter Mackenzie International?
As an Indirect Tax Manager, you will be responsible for transaction tax compliance. Indirect tax returns are filed in state and local tax jurisdictions throughout the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review indirect tax returns & payments including sales, use, and gross receipts; review business license applications and renewals; ensure timely and accurate filings to minimize assessments
- Develop, improve and streamline processes and procedures for indirect tax return compliance
- Analyze GL, reconciliations, and tax reports to ensure accurate reporting of tax; reconcile data between systems to ensure integrity and accuracy
- Monitor the sales tax system to ensure correct rates and tax rules are applied
- Respond to correspondence & inquiries from tax authorities and resolve outstanding issues
- Manage, support and develop tax staff
- Salary will be based on experience
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Tax, Accounting or related field
- 5 years indirect tax experience preferred;
- 2 years management experience preferred
- Indirect tax experience with a Big 4 or large national firm or Corporate tax experience in a large national company
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to recognize, understand, and analyze complex indirect tax issues
- Proficient computer skills including Excel, ERP systems, and Alteryx
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and large amounts of data; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and high degree of enthusiasm
