A leading manufacturer in the great lakes area, Carter Manufacturing is seeking a full-time Skilled Grind Operator to add to our talented team. To be considered for this position, you must have 1 years working with CNC/NC grinders and manual models.

Setup and operates machines such as cylindrical, infeed, through feed, and internal precision grinders. Completing assignments per customer specifications. Completes all documentation per company procedures such as step checklist, route travelers, charting, scrap tags, data entry, etc. Setup equipment by entering zero and reference points, setting tools, offsets, compensation.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain equipment and tools.
- Determine how to setup machines based on instructions and blueprints.
- Prove out CNC/NC programs when required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Set wheels, work blades, and diamond dressers.
- Adjust, setup and operate grinders to hold close tolerances including finish requirements.
Duties:
- Must be able to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics.
- Must be able to use and read micrometers and dial calipers with other hand gauges accurately.
- Select grind wheels and dresses manually or with preset tooling.
- Set controls and read dials to set angles of work piece to grind wheel.
- Positions and tightens stops/offsets to set depths, grinding wheel cut and stroke of worktable.
- Verifies dimensions of groundwork piece for conformance to specifications.
- Preform other job duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1 years working with CNC/NC grinders and manual models.
- Technical or trade School a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret process worksheets.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of quality and safety standards.
- Ability to setup, operate and maintain other manufacturing machines.
- Works independently under pressure to meet customer deadlines.
- Ability to hold tight tolerances up to .0002 tenths.
- Good work history, attendance and a team player.

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
