SUMMARY:
Carter Temple is an active, community-minded, historic African American congregation on Chicago's south side. The Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor is energetic and passionate about delivering exceptional administrative and organizational support to the Senior Pastor and Church. As a trusted assistant they serve as the liaison/representative on behalf of the Pastor requiring the utmost confidentiality and care to all. This position requires a joyful, pleasant, and caring Christ-like spirit. The ability to effectively work with a diversity of people is essential. Although many of the responsibilities of this position can be handled remotely, the candidate must reside in the Chicagoland area to carry out certain onsite duties. This position also requires content/graphic design creation and social media management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Coordinate and organize daily activities with office staff, and direct the workflow within the Senior Pastor’s office, to minimize the demands on the Senior Pastor
· Manage the Senior Pastor’s calendar for appointments, meetings, and travel
· Design, create and schedule social media posts and weekly emails using Canva, PowerPoint or other graphic design tools and email applications
· Provide support to the Senior Pastor in the work of ministries and conferences of the Church (local, district, and regional), which may require in-person attendance for on-site management of activities
· Provide support to the Senior Pastor in preparation of worship materials for weekly services and special events
· Provide hospitality support including arranging meals, accommodations, and logistics for meetings, events, guests, and programs hosted by the Senior Pastor and Church
· Maintain the daily and long-term schedule of activities for the Pastor’s office, including calendar, travel schedule, accommodations, and conferences and provide back-up materials, special arrangements and transportation related to these activities
· Assess and troubleshoot requests, evaluate resources for resolution, and recommend or initiate responsive action
· Manage correspondence including receipt and response to requests for speaking engagements, telephone inquiries meeting requests and incoming mail
· Deliver consistent customer service in a collaborative and solutions-based capacity to all including staff, volunteers, and Church members
Perform other duties as needed, which may include confidential tasks and special projects

· College degree in business, communications, or a related field is required
- Proven experience in office administration and support for a church or non-profit preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
