Carteret Community College (Morehead City, NC) is accepting applications for a full-time Cosmetology instructor. Applications will be accepted through Friday, March 14, 2025. Applicants must complete our online application, and attach a cover letter, resume, copy of unofficial post-secondary transcripts, as well as a copy of their NC Cosmetology license, and NC Cosmetology Instructor license. Salary Range for this 12-month, full-time position is $57,493 to $58,296, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include paid sick leave, 12 paid holidays, low-cost health and optional insurance (such as dental, vision, and life), and pension. Interviews will be conducted March 26th and/or March 27th. The estimated start date is May 1, 2025.The Cosmetology Instructor will conduct college courses for undergraduate students by performing the following duties.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provide instruction to students with a faculty workload consistent with full time instructor expectations, and in accordance with North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners laws, rules, and regulations.Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing appropriate, meaningful instructional activities in accordance with North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners laws, rules, and regulations.Adhere to departmental course guidelines and ensure that content covers approved competencies in accordance with North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners laws, rules, and regulations.Evaluate student performance and learning outcomes using methods appropriate to the courses in accordance with North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners laws, rules, and regulations.Request supplies and materials for courses and recommend appropriate equipment or technology.Assist with maintaining adequate inventory to ensure effective student instruction and learning activities.Maintain required college records including (but not limited to) attendance, grades, and learning outcomes. Participate in data gathering, interpretation, and evaluation activities.Provide assistance to advisees and maintain proficiency in program requirements of advisees.Participate in department, division, and college-wide advising activities and training.Advise in the MAPS center during registration periods.Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.Attend all required department, division, and college-wide meetings.Participate in on-campus professional development activitiesMaintain current licensure, certification, or other professional credentials required for the positionServe on committees as required.Participate in college-wide activities.
