- DEFINITION OF POSITION
- An Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic who performs duties related to the daily operation of Carteret Health Care Ambulance Service.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional
- Current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic in the State of North Carolina.
- Current approval to function at the EMT-Paramedic level in Carteret County as approved by the Carteret County ALS Medical Director.
- Current North Carolina drivers license with a safe driving record and preferred completion of an emergency vehicle-driving course.
- Knowledge of current trends and techniques related to Emergency Medical Services and responsibilities in providing ambulance services.
- BLS Healthcare Provider Certification
- EVOC or EVD
- ACLS
- ITLS/PHTLS must be obtained within one year of hire.
- PEPP or PALS

- May include emergency department or any area of the hospital or hospital grounds

- Outside environment
- Ambulance transports and movement of ambulances and maintenance Weather issues, highway safety
