DEFINITION OF POSITION

- A Pharmacist is responsible for performance and/or supervision of various aspects of the medication use system including but not limited to: therapeutic recommendations, advocate for patient safety, preparation, distribution, monitoring, oversight of administration, and billing. This practitioner will be primarily based in the Emergency Department and may cross-cover other areas as needed. The pharmacist’s focus is on the quality of care through comprehensive medication management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional
-
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
-
Licensed and registered as a Pharmacist by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy
-
Emergency and/or critical care experience is required
-
Residency training PGY1 and PGY2 are preferred.

Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification is preferred
-
One year experience as a pharmacist in an acute care is preferred
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-
Basic computer skills including keyboard data entry and Windows-based software navigation

Basic office equipment skills including use of calculator, telephone, printer, & fax machine
