What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telemetry Tech PCU FT position at Carteret Health Care?
JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Clinical Director, Assistant Clinical Director and/or Charge Nurse
DEFINITION OF POSITION
Provides constant surveillance of EKG waveforms from a centralized monitoring station. The position tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Interprets cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias including PR interval,
ST segment, QT interval Reports significant changes in heart rate / rhythm to appropriate nursing staff
Maintains telemetry supplies
Records events utilizing computer documentation systems
Follows hospital’s infection control policies as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional
High school graduate or equivalent.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Basic understanding of computers and/or the desire and aptitude to learn.
Completion of basic EKG arrhythmia course.
Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
