Essential Job Functions
- BUSINESS ACUMEN & PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE (~40%)
- Lead Little Planet line structure development, partnering with Retail & Wholesale teams to drive growth.

Lead business "take-aways" and "deep dives"; generate new strategies, reinforce existing ones, or drive change
- Partner with Marketing to drive compelling Brand communications and consistency across all Brand touchpoints.

Manage margin and deliver revenue goals based on financial plans across retail and wholesale
- Knowledge of product costing, garment construction, and pre-production life cycle
- PRODUCT MANAGEMENT (~40%):
- Meet calendar deadlines and key milestone meetings deliverables
- Manage FlexPLM, product hang & fold codes, and packaging - ensuring data input is accurate and up to date
- Own excel costing tools, product costing decisions, and product margin - ensuring data analysis is up to date
- FORECASTING & TREND (~20%)
- Develop strong understanding of the marketplace; recognizing and identifying trends
- Maintain awareness of competition; understanding flow cadence, product assortment, and make / value equation
- Search for white space opportunities that will grow the brand or increase relevancy
- Utilize past knowledge (fashion and analytical) plus current trends to develop new strategies and / or opportunities
- Ability to translate new ideas back into the brand hand-writing; ensuring an exciting brand experience for the customer
Supervisory / Budgetary / External Communication Responsibility
- Manage 1 direct report
- Travel as necessary - design, account sell-ins, and market knowledge
Required Experience:
4-7 years of experience in a retail buying or merchandising position; experience developing a line structure is critical- Strong knowledge of retail metrics in order to effectively analyze results across channels and markets
- Experience working with design, sourcing, product development, tech design, and other cross-functional partners
- Excellent communication and management skills; must possess ability to persuade, build consensus, and effectively disseminate information among all parties
- Proficiency and knowledge of retail math and analytics, merchandising principles, product knowledge, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Well-developed presentation skills needed to present to senior level executives and key accounts
- Sample management, sample check-in, sample closet management, presentation setup and clean up
