Essential Job functions
60% of time creating ladder plans and analyzing current and historical trends against them and LY
- Develop, execute, and communicate strategic merchandise and financial plans that support the merchandising, marketing, and financial objectives for assigned accounts
- Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by department and classification. Communicate risk and propose corrective action
20% of time managing account plan
- Manage account planning process to achieve or exceed revenue and profitability goals with professionalism and integrity
10% of time reviewing end of season performance
- Monitor end of season retailer profitability and suggest actions to reduce retailer markdowns and maximize margin
10% of time on ad hoc requests
- Complete various support requests from senior leadership and sales leaders which often have short deliverable timeframes
Supervisory / Budgetary / External Communication Responsibility
- No supervisory or budgetary responsibility
- Position often communicates with external customer peers regarding product performance & business trends
Secondary Functions
- Participate in customer’s seasonal line reviews and planning sessions
- Work with cross functional partners on seasonal projects, including but planot limited to line structure requirements
- Computer literate including advanced spreadsheet skills - create new formats for data collection and reporting
- High level of oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of retail fashion industry and/or children’s business
- Ability to build solid, productive cross functional relationships/partnerships that positively impact the business
- Exhibits the ability to skillfully overcome obstacles
- BS or BA degree and 3 years’ experience in retail/wholesale planning or equivalent business analysis
- Periodic travel to customers and headquarters for sales and service-related meetings
