Membership Director

Basic Function:

Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs designed for acquiring new members, the retention of existing members, and other programs, goods and services, which shall be developed for the direct benefit of the general membership. Will oversee and work as a liaison between the Chamber staff and the Ambassadors in order to benefit programs and events specifically designed to promote and sustain the general membership.

• Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate programs and events to increase new members, retain existing members, and promote the benefits and services offered by the Chamber
• Regularly visit existing members to share Chamber information and report member needs to the CEO
• Contact prospective members in an effort to market Chamber membership
• Arrange and participate in membership events such as: Ribbon Cuttings, Business After Hours, Membership Orientation, Annual Membership Meeting, and other events as requested or required
• Regularly coordinate with the membership to update/maintain the accuracy of the Business Directory through the ChamberMaster membership database
• Schedule and coordinate all ribbon cuttings which includes overseeing the posting of information on the Calendar of Events, notifying the Ambassadors and membership, social media postings, invitation of community leaders as required, speaking at the event, and submitting a post event press release for publication with an event photo in The Daily Tribune
• Manage and develop the volunteer Ambassador program through monthly meetings to ensure their success as representatives of the Chamber
• Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO

• Minimum Qualifications: Two year college degree OR two years of relevant experience in business/sales/marketing
• Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills
• High proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to conduct professional meetings
• High level of ethical and professional conduct
• Ability to work well independently and on a team
• Aptitude for good grammar to include social media, news media, and business correspondence
• Valid driver’s license

• Preferred Qualifications: Previous knowledge of the Cartersville-Bartow business community
• Past sales experience

Nights Weekends Required:  Some (meetings/events/trainings)
