Your Role :
As a veterinary technician in our AAHA-Accredited clinic, you’ll play a vital role in advocating for our patients and taking action to make their lives happier and healthier. Our technicians assist in all aspects of patient care including exam room, medications, patient handling, sample collection, patient monitoring, and surgical and dental procedures. They also possess a broad knowledge of behavior, common medications, nutrition, prevention, and vaccination protocols.
Responsibilities :
Provide compassionate care to all clients and their pets
Medical record management, including patient histories, to accurately record and report to the veterinarian
Educates clients on pet care practices and preventative medicine
Performs physical assessments of patients; documents and reports findings to the veterinarian
Safely restrains pets, even when large or difficult
Understands and calculates medication dosages and has knowledge of their potential side effects
Collects samples for and performs clinical laboratory testing
Positions for and successfully obtains diagnostic quality radiographs
Assists veterinarians with medical, surgical and dental procedures
Effectively communicates treatment plans to clients, accurately prepares invoices and completes payment transactions
Assists in maintaining a clean, orderly, and well-stocked hospital
Demonstrates compassion and empathy while maintaining a positive work environment
