Hancock Veterinary Clinic, located in Hamilton, Illinois, is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic full-time or part-time veterinarian to join our growing practice. We are located in West Central Illinois on the Mississippi River.
We are a mixed animal practice in a small community and have a satellite clinic located 8 miles east in Carthage, Illinois. Clinic services approximately 70% small animal and 30% large animal (majority cow-calf) with clients from Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. We are a modern clinic with digital radiography, ultrasound, dental machine, power equine dental float, and a full diagnostic lab. We also have our own online pharmacy, pet desk reminder system, and practice software with computerized charting. We have two fully stocked veterinary trucks and our Carthage location offers a climate-controlled haul-in facility for cattle. We have a dedicated support staff and work with several local pet shelters and rescues. We are specifically looking for a candidate with a strong interest in true mixed animal practice and living the small-town life.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Mixed-Animal Veterinarian is responsible for providing clinic services approximately 70% small animal and 30% large animals (majority cow-calf) The Mixed-Animal Veterinarian will work in a clinic with digital radiology, large animal ultrasound, dental machine, power equine dental float, large animal haul-in facility, and full in-house bloodwork. The Mixed-Animal Veterinarian will work with a well-trained support staff. The clinic works closely with local pet rescuers and provides service communities within the tri-state area. The Mixed-Animal Veterinarian is also responsible for health ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and practices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Small animal medicine and surgery
- Large animal medicine and surgery
- Farm calls – Beef cattle, Equine, Small Ruminants, Camelids
- Emergency Call – 3-week rotation
- Ensure the welfare of all animals
- Assist with other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree with Illinois and Iowa license
- Minimum of 1-year experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Communicate with clients on topics such as small and large animal diagnosis, treatment plans and preventative health care
- Commitment to providing high quality medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics
- Manage time and cases thoroughly and efficiently
