Job Summary |
Provide global relocation services to government, corporate and third-party agencies around the world. This position serves as the primary contact for the customer during international moves and manages the relocation process in full in accordance with Cartwright’s standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Responsible for the coordination and monitoring of the entire move, including managing services for the third-party vendors and may involve air, sea and storage shipments.
- Determines most cost-effective methods of preparation of freight for shipment, rates to be applied, and mode of transportation to be used. Negotiates and executes spot contracts for specialized shipments.
- Procurement and processing all required documents and paperwork domestically and internationally to ensure compliance with local customs authorities.
- Manually create shipments, assign carriers, dispatches shipments across multiple modes, optimization/consolidation of daily shipment plan, produce bills of lading and update shipment status information for minimally complex transportation clients.
- Input shipment details into the Move manager system to ensure on-time pickup and delivery to meet customer requirements.
- Monitor account activity and analyze customer transactions reports and make resolution recommendation to the client when analysis shows problem areas.
- Analyzes tariff rates, freight classifications, delivery schedules, carrier capabilities and transportation regulations.
- Files papers, audits invoices for accuracy and arranges for payment. Files claims with insurance company for losses, damages and overcharges of freight shipments.
- Provides instruction regarding packing procedures and for conformance to shipping specifications to prevent damage, delay or penalties. Confers with shipping brokers concerning export and import papers, docking facilities or packing and marking procedures.
