What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Associate position at Cartwrights Valley Meat Company?
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and soups
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining area
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their orders and answering any questions they may have
- Upsell additional items or promotions to increase sales
- Clear tables and assist with bussing duties as needed
- Help with restocking inventory and maintaining proper food storage procedures
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, specifically Aloha POS, to process customer orders accurately
- Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and change transactions
Skills:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or deli environment is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors
