Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our ophthalmology practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role is essential to ensuring an efficient workflow for the physician and an exceptional experience for our patients. The Medical Assistant will guide patients through their visit, support the physician with clinical tasks, document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR), and assist in minor procedures. A strong memory for details, excellent organizational skills, and a professional yet empathetic demeanor are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction :
Welcome patients and guide them through their journey in the office.
Assist the physician in maintaining an efficient workflow throughout the day.
Perform ophthalmic diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, and other imaging as needed.
Guide patients through the check-out process, ensuring they understand any next steps.
Monitor and organize exam room readiness, including restocking supplies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience as a medical assistant or similar role in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
