JOB SUMMARY
The Carver County Assessor's Office is hiring! We are currently looking for someone to fill one of our Assessor roles. The classification and wage range will be dependent upon the candidate's qualifications.
Under the direction of the County Assessor or the Assistant County Assessor, the Appraiser Trainee, Appraiser I or Appraiser II will provide assistance and accurate records of all County properties being assessed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED.
- A Valid Minnesota Driver's License or evidence of mobility
- Obtain Certified Minnesota Assessor's License within three years of employment (Every individual who appraises or physically inspects real property for the purpose of determining its valuations or classification for property tax purposes must obtain licensure as an accredited Minnesota assessor from the State Board of Assessors by July 1, 2022, or within five years of that person having become licensed as a certified Minnesota assessor, whichever is later.)
Appraiser I -
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of assessment experience
- A Valid Minnesota Driver's License or evidence of mobility
- Certified Minnesota Assessor's License
Appraiser II -
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years of assessment experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- A Valid Minnesota Driver's License or evidence of mobility
- Accredited Minnesota Assessor's License
SCORED EXAMINATION PROCESS
All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, and background investigation.
