JOB SUMMARY
The Environmental Attendant provides assistance to residents while accepting recyclable items and other materials at County facilities. This position must provide a positive customer experience with friendly interaction, and respond to routine questions regarding recycling and waste disposal.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist residents with unloading acceptable materials from their vehicles to specified areas of the facility.
- Maintain the grounds by removing all litter to achieve the neatest possible appearance to grounds and facilities.
- Provide excellent customer service to Carver County residents.
- Interact with customers through verbal communication, answering questions and providing guidance where needed.
- Perform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
- Ability to become certified and proficient in operation of equipment including forklift and skid steer loader.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
SCORED EXAMINATION PROCESS
All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), background investigation, and pre-placement physical.
