What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asset Inspector position at Carver County?
This position leads and performs transportation asset inspection efforts in support of public works operations and asset management. Inspections occur on numerous physical assets such as such pavements, culverts, storm sewer systems, guardrails, traffic signals systems, signs, etc.
Participates in the development and documentation of inspection elements and ensures repeatable standard ratings across inspections through time to maintain a safe and effective transportation system. Trains, guides and monitors others assigned to assist with inspection efforts.
Completes asset management and GIS projects as assigned. Tasks may include Cartegraph & GIS data creation/maintenance, GPS and drone data collection.
Provides follow-up compliance inspections for permitted work activities on county roadways as assigned.
- Leads and performs transportation asset inspection efforts in support of public works operations and asset management.

- Leads and trains other staff that are temporarily assigned to inspection efforts.
- Ensures continuity of inspection ratings through time.
- Performs technical asset management and GIS tasks as assigned.
- Performs terrestrial and aerial data collection tasks as assigned.
High school diploma or GED
3-year experience in asset or construction inspection, transportation asset maintenance, highway maintenance or construction work. Experience with GIS or asset management software, GPS data collection, or drone data collection. Basic knowledge of hazardous materials and basic knowledge of work zones.

Salary : $28 - $41
