What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Outdoor Recreation Instructor - Parks Programs - Seasonal & On Call position at Carver County?
The general responsibilities of the Assistant Outdoor Recreation Instructor would be to assist the Outdoor Recreation Instructors with the general facilitation of outdoor education programs, special events, day camps and other recreational services offered by Carver County. This position will often staff equipment rental service shifts as well as assist the Outdoor Recreation Instructor with seasonal specific outdoor related activities such as: canoeing; stand-up paddle boarding; kayaking; archery; GPS/geocaching; log-rolling; fishing; cross-country skiing; snow shoeing; survival skills; naturalist/educational curriculums; team building and other outdoor related curriculums.
- Assist Outdoor Recreation Instructor(s) with scheduled outdoor recreation programs and special events.
- Assist Outdoor Recreation Instructor(s) in program equipment set-up & take-down.
- Assist Outdoor Recreation Instructor(s) with program/event organizational items such as collection of participant waivers, participant rosters, coordination of late arrival or early departure of participants etc.
- Work with organized groups such as Scouts, Schools, Churches and others.
- Collection of items (video, pictures etc.) that might be used for future advertising and registration materials for classes, programs and special events.
- Assist Recreation Instructors with group management needs.
• At least 16 years of age.
• Available to work nights, weekends and holidays on a limited basis throughout employment.
• A Valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or evidence of equivalent mobility.
Salary : $16 - $19
