Job Summary
As a Data Center Technician Level 2, you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, troubleshooting, and overall operation of enterprise-level data centers. This role requires technical expertise in hardware, networking, and server maintenance, as well as experience working in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hardware installation, troubleshooting, and repair on servers, networking equipment, and storage devices.
- Monitor, diagnose, and resolve network and connectivity issues within the data center.
- Conduct routine inspections of data center equipment, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Execute cable management and ensure proper labeling and routing of cables.
- Support infrastructure deployments, including racking, stacking, and configuring new servers and network devices.
- Manage hardware replacements and component swaps (hard drives, RAM, power supplies, etc.).
- Maintain compliance with security protocols and best practices for access control.
- Document all incidents, repairs, and changes within ticketing systems.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to escalate and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of hands-on experience in data center operations, IT infrastructure support, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware (Dell, HP, Cisco, etc.) and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling installation and maintenance.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with IP networking, VLANs, and network troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift and install hardware weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications (CompTIA Server , Network , CCNA, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, etc.).
- Experience working in cloud data center environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting).
