Career Opportunity: Join the team at Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies as a Program Specialist for our Mid-Hudson Young Environmental Scientists program. As a Program Specialist, you will play a crucial role in leading all program activities for students and participants during the three-week intensive program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Mentoring: Teach established curriculum for the three-week program, providing one-on-one counseling and guidance as needed to students.
- Program Facilitation: Help maintain a healthy and safe environment for all participants, facilitate clear communication and understanding among scientists, educators, and students.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with students, undergraduates, scientists, and Cary educators to ensure a positive experience for all participants.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecology or a related field, as well as experience working with high school age youth in either formal or informal settings. Proficiency in aquatic and terrestrial components of a watershed is highly desirable.
