Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Services Technician to join their Environmental department. The successful applicant will help keep our hospital clean and safe for our patients, the public, and employees. The position is responsible for the cleaning of various hospital areas and offices.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Regularly consults the schedule to coordinate the daily activities and adjusts as necessary given the fluctuations in workload.
- Routinely select cleaning materials and supplies and prepare solutions according to procedure, load service cart, and transport to work area.
- Observe established isolation and asepsis techniques.
- Clean assigned areas by washing furniture, tile, fixtures, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions; scour and polish sinks, showers, toilets, water fountains, blinds, and mirrors.
- Thoroughly clean assigned areas by washing walls, doors, door frames, ceiling, appropriate equipment, patient televisions, and windows.
1. Obtains the CHEST-Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician Certification within one (1) of the hire date (preferred)
2. High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
Schedule:
Considering our patients and staff's needs, you may need to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays and may need to float to other units.
