CAS Constructors, located in Topeka Kansas has built a legacy of efficiency, reliability, safety and quality in municipal and industrial water/wastewater plant construction, rehab and service throughout the Midwest. In our almost 40 year history we have completed more than 450 projects and received numerous awards for both projects and safety.
We are currently recruiting for a Director of Operations.
The individual selected will be responsible and accountable for the safe, effective and efficient operation of all or a portion of the business unit projects being managed and constructed in a fashion consistent with company values, policies and procedures. Contributes to business development and the ongoing development of the company’s capability to compete in the marketplace. Manages and directs Project Directors and Project Managers.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and practice CAS’s safety policy and motivate project staff to do the same. Enforce and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Understand the client’s requirements and expectations to develop a construction strategy that follows management and construction systems established by the company
- Ensure the project complies with Quality Management procedures and that all environmental, safety and other regulatory requirements are managed appropriately.
- Monitor and manage the project process to ensure resources are being utilized properly and the project remains on time and within budget.
- Fully understand the market and develop strategies for future business opportunities including representing CAS to external groups
- Develop positive and trusting working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, field site and support functions, employees and clients.
- Provide advice and support to the Project Director or Project Manager throughout the project. Intervenes when necessary to keep the project on track.
Requirements:
- B.S or B.A from a four year college or university and 7 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
- Write speeches and articles for publications and effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.
- Comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra and advanced statistical theory.
- Water/wastewater construction experience a plus.
- Occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 lbs.
