CAS is currently seeking a Manager, International Finance. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Position Summary:

This position oversees international accounting activities, as defined by the applicable Finance Director including but not limited to: (1) Bookkeeping and accounting leadership for the ACS International countries falling within their respective geographical region(s) for originating monthly journal entries and or reviewing accounting entries submitted by staff, ledger account analysis/reconciliations, and general ledger reporting. (2) Financial Planning & Analysis of country/divisional results including budget/forecasting projections as well as reporting on actual results.  (3)  Working with external foreign accountants for reconciliation of internal results with local ledgers.  (4) Partnering with other areas (HR, Legal, Benefits, Operations) to collaborate on international issues and research financial/employment topics.

This Manager position has the responsibility to guide and manage staff, including coaching, training, and developing as well as responsible for assisting in the execution and recording of financial transactions.  This includes staff under their direct supervision as well as other financial staff supporting international accounting efforts. 

Job Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for oversight & ownership of the accuracy of the ACSI General Ledger and reconciliation activities for assigned international regions including coordination with the local foreign ledgers maintained by 3rd party international accountants (GL, VAT, CIT and other taxes), to ensure CAS/ACSI meets or exceeds all financial performance targets
  • Provides direct management, oversight and guidance to international accounting support staff on complex accounting topics (particularly in areas of Salary, Accounts Payable, Travel management).
  • Use professional judgement in the implementation of proper accounting policy.  
  • Investigate and research the proper execution of benefit and payroll topics. This includes liaison activities with external and internal (Legal, HR and Benefits) resources to investigate proper policy decisions and implementation of such policies.
  • Proactively identifies business solutions; improvements; streamline, and document policies, procedures, and processes. Create opportunities for enhanced customer service.
  • Facilitate the adherence to control requirements and aid as needed so that CAS/ACSI experiences a clean financial audit.
  • Provide monthly and annual financial planning and analysis (FP&A) insights including preparation of regional annual budgets and monthly actual vs budget comparatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with international support functions (HR, Benefits, Legal, PUBS, Membership) to resolve employment and operational issues.  Collaborate with staff from all divisions to support the achievement of goals.
  • Partners with CAS Divisional Finance leaders to provide international financial insights into monthly activities impacting their business units.
  • Provide oversight of PeopleSoft international accounting modules (e.g. GL and AP).   
  • Seek, recommend, document, and implement accounting system (GL, Expense Reporting, etc.) improvements to policies, procedures, and processes and partners with appropriate technical leads for fixes and enhancements.
  • Lead and execute complex projects with competing timelines and/or other constraints.
  • Represent the financial interests of CAS/ACSI when engaging with government agencies, auditors, and customer/vendors.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major emphasis in Accounting or Finance required; advanced degree and/or CPA, required.
  • 8 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting. Experience and solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), financial systems, and internal controls.
  • 2 years of people management experience required.
  • PeopleSoft experience preferred.
  • Adept in completing complex financial analysis and reconciliations.
  • Detail oriented with a proactive focus on accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills (both written and oral) and working well within a team environment are essential, including the ability to write clear financial reports and other business communications.
  • Customer focused mindset with the ability to influence and interact with all levels in the organization.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office applications (e.g. Excel and Word).
