CAS is currently seeking an IP Analyst. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Position Summary:
Responsible for performing the intellectual effort for CAS Search Service projects and services related to intellectual property patentability search and written opinion examination services for patent office customers in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or life sciences.
Position Accountabilities:
- Serve as a confidential resource regarding intellectual property patentability search and written opinion examination services for patent office customers.
- Craft documented search and written opinion analysis, applying the most pertinent prior art to the disclosure, meeting, or exceeding customer quality standards.
- Maintain search and examination proficiency through provided training in commercial and proprietary systems.
- Uphold uniform schedules and exceptional standards of all deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science (Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering), with a deep understanding of technical literature in the relevant field.
- At five years’ prior experience utilizing both free and commercial databases.
- Proven expertise in patent search or examination, preferably in the chemical and/or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Track record of successfully delivering projects within deadlines, coupled with an exceptional eye for detail.
- High degree of discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; specifically, customer interaction
- Strong skills in proactive planning and responsiveness
- Experience with business or customer relationship management systems (i.e. SAP, SQL, Oracle, CRM, Salesforce.com) preferred but not necessary.
