Casa Bonita is an iconic Mexican-themed restaurant and entertainment mecca in Lakewood, Colorado. Known as “the most exciting restaurant in the world,” the category-defining concept is an immersive experience that features dining in the midst of a 30-foot-tall indoor waterfall, cliff divers, puppeteers, magicians, and a mystical cast of characters. Casa Bonita is celebrating its 50th anniversary of being a part of the Denver community with a fan-base that continues to grow globally.
Responsibilities:
- Extensive knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols.
- Prevent inappropriate or illegal actions by maintaining high visibility, this is an on-floor position, not in a security office.
- Maintain constant communication with employees and customers.
- Prevents loss and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, restraining trespassers if needed and according to SOP.
- Promotes "safety first" culture with same-day reporting of all incidents including video.
- Promotes a "see something, say something" culture by considering every report to empower employees to report same-day instances.
- Verbally intervenes during crisis, this includes the ability to grasp information quickly in various situations, develop rapport, understand when people are not processing information, and be supportive or directive if needed.
- Physically intervenes in crisis, escorts person to door, or to meet LPD.
- Evict and trespass, within SOP, guests who violate rules, regulations or are creating disturbances to others' enjoyment of the facility.
- Monitor and control access to building entrances, internal doors and gates.
- Maintains knowledge of all areas of very complex facility and comfort moving about those areas in low light, flashing lights, loud sounds and free-moving, large crowds.
- CPR, First Aid and AED certified (or can get in first month).
- Insider Threat Mitigation experience.
- Assists in investigations into any employee accidents or near misses, and the Respond to emergency calls after hours.
- Fills out any necessary incident or injury reports prior to shift ending, and confirming all injuries must be reported immediately to a supervisor.
- May be asked to do other tasks as needed.
- Performs all job-related functions in a cordial, friendly manner committed to exceeding guest and team member expectations.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must be minimum 21 years old
- Required 3 years' experience in Safety and Security
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds regularly, but potentially help evacuate a person.
- Preferred Bilingual Spanish/English.
- No history of any type of assault, violence, or theft on full federal and state background check
- Display the ideal candidate integrity, professionalism, and character beyond reproach, calm in chaotic situations, upbeat demeanor, strong attention to detail and have excellent hospitality skills.
- Valid driver's license & dependable vehicle.
- Preferred security certifications and trainings (CPTED, De-escalation, Verbal Judo, Power of Hello).
- Proficient in computer skills, managing security, alarms, and camera software.
- Comfortable working with young children through senior citizens and responding to their different levels of interaction. Must be able to de-escalate and keep calm while dealing with difficult guests who may be looking to provoke and illicit a reaction.
- .Must be able to use Microsoft Office and other required programs on a computer as well as handhelds, and phone.
- Must attend all orientation and training shifts.
- Must complete 90-day probationary period.
- Able to work effectively independently as well as on a team.
- Able to multitask and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Speed, accuracy and efficiency are required as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work in a loud, distracting environment with flashing lights, haze machines, ongoing shows, and large numbers of guests constantly moving around you.
- Willing to follow procedures and take direction.
- Supportive of other team members.
- Can compete repetitive tasks while maintaining quality work.
- Must be flexible to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, days, late nights, holidays and special events. All shifts include a minimum of one weekend day.
- PTO Blackout period from Thanksgiving week till January. (Though we are closed Thanksgiving and Christmas for employees to spend with their families.).
Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Able to stand for long periods of time and walk often at a brisk pace
- Able to walk up inclines and stairs and down declines and stairs multiple times during a shift
- Capable of sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds
- Able to work and perform job tasks in small spaces
- Possesses fine motor skills and dexterity
- Able to withstand temperatures typical within a commercial kitchen setting
- Able to withstand noise levels typical of a high-volume kitchen
- Able to perform job duties efficiently in lighting conditions typical of an commercial restaurant and commercial kitchen
- Able to work calmly under pressure and at a fast pace, typical of a high volume restaurant
- Capable of and at ease with engaging with the public, potentially encountering challenging behavior and service animals
