What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Advancement position at Casa Central?
Seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader experienced in overseeing staff members to manage resource development projects. The individual will have at least five years of experience in nonprofit resource development and marketing oversight, with a Master’s Degree and knowledge of Chicago’s philanthropic community preferred. This individual will lead the efforts in establishing the agency marketing strategy, fundraising plans and fundraising efforts, including the corporate and foundation grants, elements of the governmental grants program, legacy/planned giving program, major gifts program, in-kind donations, volunteer programs, special events, and Individual Giving program through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and new prospective donors. The Director of Advancement will work in close collaboration with Program Staff members and members of the Senior Management Team. Position Highlights
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Advancement Team, by supervising and mentoring the Grant Writers, Advancement Officer, Special Events Coordinator and Marketing Manager.
- Builds a successful giving program by identifying prospects, designing and implementing strategies, and producing materials and applications as needed.
- Actively engages with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to develop and foster new relationships that forge pathways to increase the Agency’s assets and opportunities.
- Identifies, qualifies and secures new opportunities by cultivating and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with potential donors; develops innovative funding partnerships with organizations that further the fundraising goals and initiatives of Casa Central.
- Analyzes trends in captured data to develop new fundraising opportunities and evaluate existing strategies within the department.
- Develops event goals, budgets, and committees for special events, including the Annual Dinner Gala, in collaboration with the Agency’s leadership team.
- Collaborates with Senior Management Team and Board of Directors to translate the vision and strategic plan into actionable steps. Actively promote the mission, vision, and values statements.
- Works on other Adhoc projects as assigned by the Vice President of Advancement.
